Meta tags (Tag categories, Tag groups, ...)

It is useful to group tags based on a common theme, topic or aspect. To accomplish this, we need "meta tags". Meta tags would put tags into a certain category, which would typically be a more abstract term or concept than the tag itself.

• The relationship between tags and meta tags is N:M
  • A tag can have multiple meta tags
  • A meta tag typically has multiple tags

• The best way to organize the meta tags and the tags in the UI would probably be a two pane view, layed out vertically. The upper pane would show the meta tags, the lower pane would show the tags.

• Details for the UI concept still have to be defined...
